Richard "Dick" Moline

Richard “Dick” Moline, 81, resident of Sheridan, Wyoming, formally of Brockway, Montana, passed away on January 29, 2025, at his home. 

A Viewing will be Friday, February 7, 2025, from 1:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at Sheridan Funeral Home, 1423 O’Dell Court, Sheridan, WY.  

The Graveside Service with full Military Honors is at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.     

A Celebration of Life and reception will follow at 12:00 P.M. at the Kalif Shrine.

Dick was born on August 19, 1943, to James and Bertha (Ueland) Moline in Terry, Montana. He grew up on the family ranch located outside of Brockway, Montana. He was the oldest of three children, followed by Charles “Charlie” Moline and Donna Otsby. He graduated high school in 1961, then went on to attend Montana State University where his love for the Bobcats began.  Dick enjoyed his time in college. On February 3rd, 1963, he was initiated into the Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity as a life member. He graduated with his degree in Industrial Arts. Shortly after graduating, he returned to Circle, Montana to begin teaching at the local high school.

Dick received his draft notice in 1969 to serve in the United States Army where he was stationed in Vietnam. While serving as a heavy haul truck driver, he was awarded the Bronz Star Medal for his meritorious achievement in ground operations against hostile forces. He was also awarded the Army Commendation Medal. He was proud to have served his country. Upon returning home, he partnered in a Ford dealership. He met Julie Wilbur in the fall of 1973, and they were married April 12th, 1974. Dick and Julie celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in the spring of 2024. To their union, they welcomed three beautiful children, Natalie Renee, Dustin James and Melodi Rae. They moved the family to Sheridan in the Spring of 1979. Dick retired from the Wyoming Sawmill after 26 years. He was involved with Sheridan’s VFW Post 1560, where he served as a commander, and then quarter master for many years. Dick’s greatest joy was being Papa to his eight grandchildren: Amber, Jonathan, Sidnee, James, Tanner, Averee, Dailee, and Delainee. Dick was known to spend hours in his shop making beautiful wood pieces and tinkering on anything with a motor, especially tractors. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Charlie, and his granddaughter Amber. He will be dearly missed by his loving wife, three children, seven grandchildren, his sister Donna (James) Ostby, and countless other family and friends.
