Shirley Ann was born in Sheridan, Wyoming on March 17th, 1938, to Carl and Harriett (Irene) Hammontree. She attended Sheridan schools, graduating from Sheridan High School in 1956. Later in life she attended Radiologic Technology school in Corpus Christi, Texas, receiving her Radiographer Certificate in 1995.
After high school, she married August Richard (Dick) Talcott, July 13th, 1958. They had three daughters Kelly, Kristi, and Kaylene. August died in a car accident in 1975. She later married James A.M. French, who also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her 3 daughters: Kelly (Russell) Shelby (of Eufaula, Oklahoma), Kristi (Randy) Schwartz (of Dickinson, North Dakota), and Kaylene Zimmer (of Oakley, Utah). In addition, she is survived by 6 grandchildren: Kirsten (Damon) Carter (of Herriman, Utah), Megan (Josh) Keener (of Helena, Montana), Francine (Eric) Kovash (of Byron, Minnesota), Bryson Foos (of Billings, Montana), Nolan (Megan) Schwartz (of North Salt Lake, Utah), and Katie Schwartz (of Denver, Colorado). Shirley also had 9 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Carlene Hammontree of Sheridan.
Cremation has taken place and the family will have a private ceremony in Sheridan in July of 2025.
